say that you had a job that you were closeted at- not because you’re 100% sure that being out would hurt you, more of a “why bother when it might and being out isn’t important enough to bother risking it” type of situation

now, say that you got fed up with this job for non-gender related reasons, and put in your notice, only to realize afterwards that through sheer coincidence, your last day is march 31st(trans day of visibility)

on one hand, it’s extremely unlikely that you’ll ever have the chance to go “btw i’m trans lol bye” again

on the other, you might well have to spend your last 20 minutes on the job explaining trans 101 and/or getting stared at by your coworkers
