when allistics get really uptight about saying “person with autism” instead of “autistic person” and then turn around and call autistic people “autists”

i’m autistic & i was born with a birth defect. not my autism- that’s fine, aside from certain assholes spreading misinformation and trying to prevent people from being born like me-, a heart defect. it took away my energy, leaving me exhausted from a single trip to the store at an age when for most parents, getting their kid to calm down for five minutes is an impossible task.
i got surgery to fix it at the age of 5, and had a (literal) overnight increase in strength and energy. if it had been left untreated, it most likely would have eventually killed me.
i know from personal experience that birth defects can really suck ass, and some of them should totally be prevented or fixed early on so kids can get on with their lives.
autism? is not one of them. it’s not even a birth defect, it’s a fucking neurotype that does not need to be cured or prevented in any fashion.
i hate eye contact, i can’t always talk using verbal methods, the feeling of crayons on paper is physically painful, and i count myself lucky if i manage the energy to have two close friends at the same time. i’m easily overwhelmed by things like confrontation and the feeling of having long fingernails. if i do not have access to sensory-friendly foods, i will literally starve because i can’t eat stuff that doesn’t mesh with my sensory tastes, i literally just physically cannot.
and above all else, i can’t fucking stand people who claim autism is some kind of tragedy that should be avoided at all costs. meaning you, haleymeijermusic. fuck you if you still think autism is a “preventable birth defect”.
Autistic femininity is wearing the same makeup look every day, and hating how stiff it feels on your skin. Autistic femininity is stimming with your brushes and powder puffs, and loving how well they apply. Autistic femininity is hating the feeling of false eyelashes on your eyelids, and mourning your disuse of them. Autistic femininity is cursing your dyspraxia when you use liquid eyeliner, but loving how it looks on your eyes. Autistic femininity is wearing dresses or skirts for the sensory input, but hating the lace trimming they place on the ends.
Autistic femininity is conflict and fascination.
“am i having more nonverbal episodes over time or am i just learning to acknowledge them when they occur” an autibiography by me
tbh 2/3 of the reasons i wanna see mad max is bc of all the language/slang alterations and i wanna know how 2 incorporate them into my everyday language usage since a) it sounds rad and b) if i talk weird enough maybe NTs won’t notice when im having problems languaging

Allistic people: High functioning Autistics are not allowed an opinion on Autism because they don’t understand the ~true suffering~ of it
Allistic people: Low Functioning Autistics are also not allowed an opinion on Autism because they are confused and can’t be trusted to know whats best for them
Allistic people: Oh man, so who should speak for Autistic people?
Allistic people: …
Allistic people: Omg…..its me…..I am the true voice for Autistic people. I will now devote my life to telling Autistic people to shut the hell up whilst I tell them how much I want to eradicate them
Allistic People: I am an angel, a brave warrior of justice, the true champion of the weak and voiceless
We’ve done it. We’ve found the ultimate autism-related youtube comment, the comment to end them all. With this single cutting comment I have been so thoroughly dismantled that I have no choice but to confess my deception, give up the act, and go on to live a statistically average, neurotypical life. I have been found out by a true autism expert.
