i realllly hate when ppl make jokes about school shootings because we had a drill once that they didn’t tell us was a drill and my classroom was right by the school entrance. a girl had a panic attack and ppl started trying to not cry loudly bc we were afraid we would die and ppl who have never even been in a tornado drill god forbid a lockdown are acting like its funny that kids are dyingg here just because we have terrible gun lawws

I’m so sorry you & your classmates went through that, nonny. -hugs if wanted-
it happened before I started high school, but apparently at my school there was a similar incident with a girl. altho there was a ~delightful~ twist in that during drills, security guards were told to go around banging on the doors and (half heartedly) trying to get in.
its as if people think dealing with the pain and terror of regular mass murder is our just reward for having the ~audacity~ to live in a country with godawful politicians who value their political careers over the lives of countless children

how did you get involved in sw, if you dont mind me asking? if this is too personal, ignore me.

“involved” sounds like i’m actually getting a lot of work lol, i still live with my parents so my advertising methods & availability especially are actually kinda limited

but seriously, if you are in/have been in high school then you know that people in their late teens are a bunch of horny motherfuckers. “getting involved” in sw basically consisted of letting the less-than-1000%-law-abiding crowd know that their money could be spent on becoming slightly less horny motherfuckers.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts about anglocentrism and how English speakers have a ton of privilege in the lgbt+ community because they actually have words to express their identities, whereas people who speak less common languages don’t have this option. Case in point: I’m French, and I have no way to express a gender-neutral identity, or to talk about being ace or aro without explaining the entire concept, let alone something lesser known like lithsexuality.

something about the way this is worded makes me think its more of a setup for a “gotcha” than an actual question, but I’ll try and answer anyways.

if you mean privilege in the sense of benefiting from another group’s oppression, I don’t see it. Anglocentrism is absolutely a problem, and the way english came to be so widely used is pretty fucked up.

its very definitely an issue that needs to be addressed, and as english speakers I think we should be aware of the advantage we have, but I don’t think its as simple as privilege/oppression on the part of english speakers(especially people who were forced to speak english in order to assimilate, or because their ancestral language was wiped out altogether)

y u call yrself gay despite hating gay ppl and not being gay? lol

well
a) I don’t hate gay ppl so idk where tf u got that from and

b) if everyone insists on calling it “gay marriage” “gay rights” “the gay community” then im rly kinda forced 2 conclude that either

a) everyone else hates ace/aro/MGA people with a passion just barely surpassed by straight ppl

or

b) gay can be used as an umbrella term without the world ending
