aromanticism is often seen as a subset of asexuality and it was esp so a few years back so its a reasonable deduction that the reason why romantic orientation tends to go before sexual(homoromantic bisexual, biromantic pansexual, aromantic asexual) is bc when the term ‘aro ace’ was first being used there was no reason to switch the order bc there were non-aro aces sure but non-ace aros werent super well known

thus there was no reason to specify ace aros because of the assumption that all aros were aces

and when it become common to acknowledge other romantic orientations as separate from their sexual counterparts the tradition(not rly the right word but spoons) was already relatively well established

idk i just think its interesting
