this is a character who hijacks broadcasts in multiple canons across four separate media (movies, television, novels, comics) just so he can make as many terrible killing gags as he possibly can before getting to the actual killing (and then the actual murders are joke-themed too). whatever sad angry punk-hipster wannabe Leto is playing, it’s not the joker, it’s just a generic serial killer with green hair.

Can we talk about how shitty his understanding of mental illness is too? my cousin, who sexually abused me from when i was 8 to when i was 11(his age during this was 13-16) once had a ‘joking’ conversation about killing me, raping the corpse and setting it on fire. i argued that he should rape me before killing me, which should probably show you how normal it was to me for him to expose me, a nine year old, to seriously violent imagery without blinking about it
