A pedophile cannot change who they are. Why would you oppose pedophiles that don’t act on their urges, when the only other option for them is to act on their urges? Either they abuse children, or they don’t. You can encourage one of these behaviors, or invalidate your opinion and leave them to their own devices. Given these choices, it should be clear we need to support those who don’t act to encourage that behavior. Why would you place your own feelings of disgust over the safety of children?
